Kulturhistorisches Museum Magdeburg

The culture historical museum is located in the heart of Magdeburg, capital of Saxony-Anhalt and is only a few steps away from the famous Cathedral of Magdeburg which contains the grave of Otto the Great.
In its permanent exhibition the museum presents the history of Magdeburg beginning with the first human signs till today. At present, the exhibition contains paintings from the 15th to the 20th century, textiles, tapestries from Flanders, furniture from various centuries, ceramics and a number of special collections. Special theme exhibitions, especially about the medieval times, contributed to spreading the fame of the museum far beyond the Land of Saxony-Anhalt.
